Day Camp for Young Women on App development

STEM Santa Fe is proud to partner with Chicago-based Brave Initiatives to bring this awesome camp to Santa Fe and New Mexico for the first time.

When: July 29-August 3, 2019, Monday-Friday 9-5 and Saturday from 10-12

Who: Young Women currently in 7th and 8th grade, rising into 8th and 9th grade.

Where: Santa Fe Community College, 6401 Richards Ave., Santa Fe, NM 87508

Description

The camp will focus on app development as well as introduce young women to coding and computer programming. The two goals of this camp are:

1- Enter the app in the Congressional App Challenge

2- Spark their interest in taking Computer Science classes in High School

Cost

This camp is FREE to students and lunch will be provided Monday through Friday. 

Application Process

  • Fill out the application form (Available in English and Spanish) by clicking here.
  • Send in a letter of interest, no more than 300 words, letting us know why you are interested in this program, any past experience you have in coding, and your current career goals.
  • Mail/scan and email the Media Release Form and Waiver (available in English and Spanish) signed by parent/guardian.

Deadline for the above 3 requirement is May 31th. Apply now. Space is limited.

Notifications of acceptance of your application will be sent out on May 20 and further instructions will be given to complete registration (deadline for final registration: June 7, 2019).
